Carrie has been a consistent and loyal member of my studio for over 20 years. She made her wedding gown with me, got married and had her family, and now her daughter just passed her driving test!! Time goes too fast.

This is another masterpiece. This wool plaid is soft and needed support with a weft-insertion underlining. Carrie loves plaids and wants them to be unusual and funky, so she did not stick to the pattern but has created a very wearable jacket. It is lined in silk, and Carrie made the tabs to fasten in the front of the jacket. A great deal of thought was put into the design of this, including which pieces would be on the straight grain and which pieces would be on the bias.
Carrie has made this lovely dress in the style of Diane von Furstenberg. The silk fabric came from Elliot Berman Textiles. Jane loves how Carrie used the print in a clever way highlighting the key pattern in the neck edges and the belt.

Carrie completed the sewing of this couture jacket during a Sewing Retreat and Vacation with Jane. Its looks great on her.
