Janice used McCalls 7786 loose fitting pants pattern for her fun rayon slacks.

What can I tell you about Janice? She loves to sew and loves fabrics, and by all accounts has a nice collection. It can be frustrating to find time to sew when you are a Doctor in charge of an active ER, and also have a huge garden to cultivate! She still schedules her time to come to a weekly sew lab, and I am delighted now that her daughter is away to college she is coming to my Spring Sewing Retreat at Asilomar. Take a look at some of her creations.

Samples of several types of buttonholes were made. In the end we used a form of bound buttonhole. The BERNINA has a rectangle that can be set to any size, so a leather patch was stitched on the right side of the right front jacket. Each rectangle was cut down the center and out to the corners, and the patch pushed through to the inside. Lips were formed and taped in place with scotch tape. Then each buttonhole was top stitched to the facing layer. Then using pelican scissors a rectangle was cut out of the facing right next the top stitching
