Jane is helping several students design a couture Chanel style jacket.
The first step is to get a perfectly fitted muslin.
The sleeve is made of three pieces, and the sleeve cap is
fitted exactly. Then the muslin garment is
removed, taken apart, and the muslin is used as the pattern.
Seam allowances are removed from the pattern, and then the
wool and lining are cut out adding an extra large seam
allowance (about 1.5 to 2 inches). The sewing
line on the pieces is then marked with a basting line.
