Vicki Z
StyleArc's Lacey Dress pattern.

Vicki knew how to sew before she joined my regular sew labs. She had recently retired when she came to our sewing group a few years ago . She has been a prolific sewer, and I have enjoyed guiding her to use different fabrics and types of patterns. I love that Vicki is so flexible and adds joy to the studio. Enjoy all her creations.

Vicki Z completed her French couture jacket. It is a work of art! She selected a Vogue pattern, boucle wool from Alice at Mendel Goldberg in New York, silk for the lining from Stone Mt and Daughter, and buttons and trim from Britex.

First Vicki made a muslin (toile) to perfect the fit. Then she quilted the silk lining to every panel of the jacket which was then all hand stitched on the inside. All the hems are hand stitched and a chain is inserted inside the hemline to give the jacket some weight. Great needlework Vicki.

Vicki Z just finished this boiled wool jacket. It replaces a jacket that she loved that was threadbare! The old jacket was used for the pattern and all of the edges were serged.

She made the flower closure.

Vicki Z chose Butterick B6292 for her coat made from a Kantha quilt.

The silk fabric came from Marcy Tilton and was not easy to sew. Especially as Jane kept suggesting different ideas to Vicki. Such as “plaid, check or stripe calls for some bias!” Or "Let’s break that line and insert some solid dupioni”! Results are GREAT! Pattern is Sandra Betzina Vogue V7885

Vicki made this Archer Button Up from Grainline Studio , She used the fabric bias on the back yoke and front band.

Vicki's made her first pair of printed knit pants. She plans to copy the pattern of this red jacket.

She is wearing her latest dress made in a red ponte knit. The pattern is Vogue V8871.
